Two of my colleagues (Deborah Beckett and Elizabeth Urello) and I spoke about support at WordCamp Philadelphia this weekend. This is a modification of the talk I did in Nicaragua a few weeks ago. Elizabeth Urello gets credit for the original idea 🙂 Sadly, these images don’t let you hear our delightful anecdotes and as…

I am blown away every time the cactuses in my front yard bloom. They are so beautiful. I mean, who knew that a cactus could grow the most amazing flowers? It’s an amazing little secret of the desert. Not only do I love these bold flowers, the bees go nuts over them. I caught this…

Right where they belong. These feet prefer the Caribbean, but the Pacific will do just fine, thanks.

I’m in Nicaragua for the third time in my life. The first was when I was born and the second was last year for WordCamp Managua 2013. This time I’m at WordCamp again. We’re in a lovely beach town called Las Peñitas, just outside of León, about an hour from Managua. I just gave a…

My dad found this amazing beef at a local Mexican grocery store. It’s super thin, a little seasoned, a super yum when prepared over an open flame.

I know I’ve posted pictures of roadrunners on here before, but roadrunners just never get old for me and we caught some really great pictures recently.

The weather has been super nice so we’ve spent a bit more time out in the backyard. It’s really nice, things are growing, and all my plants look very hopeful. Of course, the train is pretty cool too. The kids and I decided we need some buildings and since we have no supplies we built a…

My brother gave my dad a G scale train set for Christmas. We love having it our backyard, as do the cats.

We have guests from Panama staying with us and my friend made us hojaldres for breakfast. They are similar to the sopaipillas we eat here in New Mexico, but yummier 😉
