Tugging at Your Heart Strings

The last two nights my husband and I have watched some super depressing movies. The first, Remember Me, is a movie about a young man who recently lost his brother and a young woman whose mom is murdered in the first scene. They meet, fall in love, fight, get back together, blah blah blah. Other stuff happens and you find yourself at the end really rooting for them. And then BAM!!! I won’t spoil it, but I will say, I do not enjoy being dragged along and manipulated in just such a way.

Then we watched The Greatest. It opens with a young couple in love and I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say there is a car crash less than 5 minutes into the movie. The rest of the movie is about a young teenage girl and the family of her boyfriend. Slightly a bit more uplifting than the movie from the night before but still.

So tonight we’re taking a break from emotional roller coasters and watching Bond. James Bond.
