Hurricane Green Chile

Last week a massive storm with 60-90 mile an hour winds blew through our neck of the woods. In true New Mexican fashion, people in some parts of the city just thought the wind kicked up a bit. In our neighborhood, however, the sand was flying so thick driving visibility was nil and as my husband and kiddos raced for home in our vehicle, they saw transformers blowing all over the neighborhood. In fact, a power line snapped and fell to the ground in front of them when they were stopped at a stop sign near our house, .

Two massive trees in our neighborhood fell over. One was a beautiful old evergreen and it just missed the house next door.

Here’s another, this one did fall onto the neighbor’s house.
