Clarinets and Mozart

I find this piece so great to listen to. For many reasons. Why? Oh, I’m glad you asked. Here’s why:

  1. It’s familiar and predictable so I can work to it without being distracted by new sounds.
  2. It reminds me of youth music camp back when I was a wee one, either we played it? Or we listened to it?
  3. Clarinet music is just plain pretty, ok, pretty is probably not the right word. Woody? Haunting?
  4. This is cheesy, but it’s floaty. When the clarinet is weaving around it just feels like, let’s see, swinging in a hammock? Soft breezes? I told you it was cheesy. See #3.
